This policy outlines how QuantKit handles information to provide our quantitative trading tools and software licenses. We prioritize data minimization, collecting only what is essential for security and service delivery.
1. Information We Process
We process limited categories of data based on your interaction with our services:
- Standard Web Logs: Our hosting and security infrastructure automatically logs basic technical information (such as IP addresses and device types) to defend against cyberattacks and ensure site stability.
- Transaction & Account Data: When you purchase a license, our e-commerce partner (Whop) provides us with your email and transaction details. We do not store or see your full payment information.
- Software Licensing (HWID): To protect our intellectual property and manage your access, our software generates a unique Hardware ID (HWID) from your device. It is sent to our license server to verify your license and prevent unauthorized software distribution.
- Basic Usage Telemetry: To understand how our software is used and whether updates install correctly, the software sends basic statistical usage information: at each license check, the software version and your country (derived from your connection; your IP address is not stored in these statistics); and while the software runs, which data feed and instrument are in use, whether it is live, replaying a recording or idle, and whether the previous session ended normally. Your device is represented only by a coded identifier computed from your HWID with a secret key, which changes every month. No license key, name, email, market data or files are included. This data is stored in the European Union, used only in aggregate, and deleted after 13 months. You can turn it off: with the software closed, add
"usage_statistics": false to the APP_SETTINGS section of %LOCALAPPDATA%\QuantKit\Visor\config.json.
- Community Data: If you join our community on Discord, we use automated tools to sync your purchase status with your community profile to grant you access to support.
2. Service Providers (Sub-processors)
To run our operations, we partner with industry-standard service providers. These companies process data only as instructed by us:
- E-commerce & Licensing: Whop (whop.com)
- Hosting, Security & Usage Statistics: our infrastructure and security provider. Usage statistics are stored in the European Union.
- Community & Support: Discord (discord.com)
The full list of our service providers is available on request.
3. Legal Basis & Rights
As a France-based entity, we process data under Contractual Necessity (to deliver your software) and Legitimate Interest (to prevent piracy, secure our platform, and understand in aggregate how our software is used so we can maintain and improve it).
You can object to the use of your data for usage statistics at any time by contacting us.
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or request the deletion of your data. For any privacy-related requests, please contact us via our official support channels on Discord or our Whop storefront.
4. Cookies & Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with our website. Analytics cookies are only loaded after you provide explicit consent via our cookie banner. For full details on the cookies we use and how to manage your preferences, please see our Cookie Policy.
5. Data Security
We implement professional security measures to protect your data, including encrypted license validation and enterprise-grade DDoS protection. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
